Vacation on the Brain But Not an Option for Your Wallet? SmarterTravel.com Announces the Top Bargain Destinations for Summer 2007

Italy, San Francisco and Hawaii Offer Travelers Value This Summer

SmarterTravel.com, a comprehensive online travel resource, has revealed its list of bargain destinations for summer 2007. With airfare and gas prices at a premium and industry analysts predicting a record-breaking travel season, SmarterTravel's annual list is the result of monitoring travel trends, industry news and sales patterns to inform travelers about the places that offer the best value for the coming season.

"Summer is the busiest travel season and the most expensive, and this year will be no different," said Anne Banas, executive editor at SmarterTravel.com. "Our extensive research has determined the destinations that offer travelers the best value -- whether it is a great deal on airfare, hotels or even cruises. These vacations offer something for everyone."

SmarterTravel's 2007 summer bargain destinations include:

-- Italy. Great sales on airfare have finally made Italy affordable for
the masses. Although Europe is typically expensive during the height of
the summer tourist season, new service on three airlines (Alitalia,
Delta and European low-cost carrier easyJet) and a spate of sales on
other carriers have helped the nation top the list. Rome was recently
even voted among the top most affordable cities in Europe by U.K.-based
travel agent Travelcare.

-- San Francisco. New routes, increased service and two new airlines
moving in make San Francisco a uniquely good bargain this summer. If
San Francisco's notorious fog is a deterrent, you can combine a trip to
San Francisco with a coastal road trip or with an exploration of
sunnier destinations nearby, such as Napa, Yosemite, or Lake Tahoe.
This summer also brings Virgin America to its new hub in the Bay Area,
and JetBlue will expand its service to include both San Francisco and
Oakland, making it even easier to get there from anywhere. Plus, the
Fisherman's Wharf Pass and the free cable car tickets being offering by
the San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau for booking hotel
accommodations through its Web site further sweeten the deal.

-- The Bahamas. Increased accessibility, a passport rebate program and a
pattern of airfare sales makes the Bahamas a top bargain destination
this summer. The island-nation is in the hurricane belt, but you'll
have a higher chance of enjoying cheaper rates and good weather by
visiting in early summer. Peak hurricane activity occurs from late
August through September, so aim for June or July travel to take
advantage of summer savings and avoid the worst weather.
Nassau/Paradise Island has a promotion that not only covers the cost of
a new passport, but also the $60 fee required to get your passport in
two weeks instead of the usual eight to 10 weeks, and increased air
service and discounted fares make the Bahamas that much closer for
bargain travelers this season. Cruising to ports in the Bahamas is
another great way to take advantage of lower-than-usual rates.

-- Atlanta. Not merely the home of one of the nation's biggest airports,
Atlanta has been transformed into an appealing and affordable vacation
hub as well. Recent sales from American, AirTran, Continental and
Spirit suggest the trend towards discounted fares to Atlanta may
continue at least through early summer. This will also be the first
summer you can buy an Atlanta CityPass, an attractions card that offers
savings to serious sightseers.

-- Hawaii. After years of record tourism and rising prices, affordability
is once again in sight for Hawaii vacations. New options in air travel,
inter-island fare wars and hotel sales set the stage for Hawaii's
comeback as a bargain destination. ATA is increasing its flights from
Oakland, and Continental, Hawaiian and Aloha have been offering sales
for late-spring and summer travel. Travelers can benefit from Expedia's
big summer sale and Starwood's discounts for great hotel deals.

"We always recommend travelers do their research to make the most of their travel dollars, but these destinations will help people take advantage of the best deals and get the most out of their summer vacation," continued Banas.

Think Outside-the-Box (and the Big City) this Memorial Day with CheapTickets

Travelers Find Significant Hotel Savings in the Suburbs During a Holiday Weekend in the Big Cities

CheapTickets.com, a leading online travel agency that knows "the less you pay, the better it feelsSM," has identified the five most popular Memorial Day destinations for 2007. Even better, CheapTickets suggests alternative hotel locations to help budget travelers avoid being priced out of hotels in the big city.

"Outside" is definitely "in" this Memorial Day, with nearby satellite city and suburban hotels offering significant savings for travelers headed to the big cities. For example, penny-pinched vacationers wanting a long weekend getaway to Miami will find savings of up to 45% on hotel accommodations in nearby Fort Lauderdale. And those headed to the Orlando area will appreciate a 38% savings in nearby Kissimmee. With easy access to big city attractions, travelers can enjoy the heart of the action at a reasonable price.

"Memorial Day is the big summer kick-off and with so many people headed out of town for the holiday weekend, gas prices won't be the only thing putting a strain on the pocketbook," said Marita Hudson of CheapTickets' Cheap SquadSM. "Outside-the-box thinkers know there are savings to be had by staying just outside the big city."

Cheap Tickets has identified the top five U.S. Memorial Day destinations, based on advance hotel bookings. The online travel site has also identified nearby destination alternatives for each major city, which offer significant savings on hotel accommodations for savvy-travelers:

CheapTickets Top Five Memorial Day Destinations 2007

CHTX0523.gif

¹Percentage savings were calculated on May 4th, 2007 by taking the average price for all hotel bookings in the listed city purchased on CheapTickets.com for travel over Memorial Day Weekend 2007 and comparing them with the average price for all hotel bookings in the listed alternative purchased on CheapTickets.com for travel over Memorial Day Weekend 2007.

PICKS FOR THE BEST BIG CITY GETAWAY ON A SMALL TOWN BUDGET THIS MEMORIAL DAY:
Travelers can still kick summer into high-gear without tossing their budget out the window this Memorial Day. CheapTickets suggests the following five alternatives for a big city experience that won't break the bank.

LAS VEGAS (STAY "OFF THE STRIP") - Gambling isn't the only reason that travelers make Las Vegas their Memorial Day destination. Some of Las Vegas' best kept secrets are just "off the strip." Shopaholics beware! Off the strip hand bag and shoe boutiques are hard to resist. Play any of "sin city's" 45 championship or desert golf courses while saving up to 30%-off hotel accommodations. Nothing spells Memorial Day better than saving big and winning big in the casino capital of the world.

FT. LAUDERDALE - Visiting the Gold Coast for Memorial Day? Known for its lively beach atmosphere and weekly outdoor music festivals, Ft. Lauderdale is a great alternative. Travelers can spend the day playing volleyball with new friends, and then take Miami's nightlife by storm! Expect nothing less this holiday weekend than the perfect beach getaway.

LONG ISLAND - Avoid the chaos of New York City airports and fly directly to Islip's Long Island MacArthur Airport of Suffolk County. In minutes, visitors can be at the steps of Long Island museums, wineries and beaches. The city also offers travelers the experience of the booming Hamptons. Or, those who want the feel of the Hamptons without the price tag and crowds can try a relaxing Bed & Breakfast in North Fork's Greenport Village. If you still want to visit the Big Apple, New York City is easily accessible via Long Island Railroad, which heads straight into New York's Penn Station.

KISSIMMEE - Only 5 miles from major theme park attractions, Kissimmee is the perfect alternative for travelers looking for discounted prices, not short-changed experiences. While public transportation eases the commute to the Orlando hot spots, it can also escort adventurous travelers to the nearest marina, where sea bass fishing is considered among the best in the South.

GURNEE -This quaint Mid-Western town lies only 45-minutes outside the exciting metropolis of Chicago. Forget hot dogs and hamburgers this Memorial Day! In 15 short miles, travelers can be salmon fishing on Lake Michigan for their holiday entrée. Explore "Gurnee's greens" at one of its 18-hole public golf courses or take the kids for a day at one of Gurnee's 25 recreation parks. With savings up to 72%-off, travelers can afford to explore this hidden gem of an All-American town.

Take Advantage of Volatile Airfare Pricing When Prices Drop, Even After Tickets Have Been Purchased

Are you frustrated by the constant rise and fall of airfare prices? Unsure of when to buy your ticket? Well, fret no more. Now there's a service that tracks airfare prices and alerts you to price drops on specific flights. Best of all, the service continues to track prices even AFTER tickets have been purchased, letting you know when you're eligible for a travel voucher or cash rebate!

Yapta, Inc. ( www.yapta.com ) today announced the public-beta launch of the industry's only airfare tagging service that tracks airfare on specific flights and alerts consumers via email when fares drop or fall below a desired spending limit. By enabling consumers to "tag" specific flights from online itineraries offered at leading domestic airline websites or online travel agents, and have pricing continually monitored thereafter, Yapta assures that users get alerted to the lowest possible price for airline tickets. Bringing to light pro-consumer "guaranteed airfare rules" offered by many airlines, the service helps air travelers obtain travel vouchers – and in some cases, cash refunds – when the price decreases on tickets that have already been purchased.

"We're introducing trip tagging as a new approach to travel shopping," said Tom Romary, president & CEO of Yapta. "Airline ticket prices are highly volatile, making it very difficult for most consumers to be assured that they are getting the best deal possible. Yapta provides accurate, timely price tracking, regardless of when or where consumers decide to purchase or shop for airline tickets online. By enabling travelers to tag the exact flights they want from leading travel sites and receive email alerts when prices drop, we're providing complete price transparency and presenting them with the opportunity to save a significant amount of money."

Yapta users track airfares by "tagging" the exact flight itineraries that they want using a downloaded browser add-on. Additionally, travelers can also use Yapta on a post-purchase basis by simply entering their confirmation code or flight information into the Yapta website. The Yapta add-on serves consumers during their online travel shopping experience only, and does not engage during other web surfing sessions. Once a trip is tagged, it is automatically aggregated on the "My Trips" page at Yapta.com. The website intelligently separates flights that have been purchased from flights that are being watched.

In December 2006, Yapta initiated a private-beta test of the service, allowing select consumers to tag flights, receive alerts on airfare price drops, and capture refunds and travel vouchers. In just three months, Yapta alerted its 275 test users to approximately $30,000 in eligible savings and refunds, for an average net benefit of $109 per traveler.

"Customers gain peace of mind when using Yapta to shop for travel," Romary said. "Airlines have implemented great pro-consumer policies that can be difficult for customers to understand. At Yapta, we help to clarify and communicate these policies that enhance overall satisfaction and reinforce the reasons to purchase directly from airline websites, including no booking fees, bonus miles, and price protection."

"Airfare prices, in large part, are established by sophisticated yield management systems that allow airlines to make seats available at fluctuating rates based on supply and demand," said Robert Goodwin, transportation industry analyst for Gartner. "While this pricing practice is presently the most common approach for airlines to remain cost effective, travelers are often left puzzled by it. Through greater price transparency and stronger customer loyalty programs – such as issuing vouchers for future travel – airlines have an opportunity to enhance their direct relationships with consumers."

Registration for the Yapta public-beta can be completed at www.yapta.com.

About Yapta, Inc.
Yapta, Inc. was founded in January 2006 with the mission to assure consumers that they get the most value out of their trip planning, and pay the lowest possible price for airline tickets. Yapta's online service takes advantage of airfare price volatility by continually monitoring airline ticket prices and alerting consumers when the price on "tagged" flights decreases. Bringing to light pro-consumer "guaranteed airfare rules" offered by many airlines, the service helps air travelers obtain travel vouchers – and in some cases, cash refunds – when the price decreases on tickets that have already been purchased. Branson Busts Gas Prices Again

Branson Chamber of Commerce Welcome Centers to Give Out Discount Card in Exchange for Gas Receipts

The Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce/CVB is responding to increasing gas prices by offering visitors to Branson a Gas Buster discount card, accepted at dozens of live shows, area attractions, lodging properties, retail shops and restaurants, worth a total of $50 off purchases, as well as a chance to win a grand prize getaway to Branson.

Between May 1 and Oct. 31, 2007, The Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce/CVB will give a Gas Buster discount card to anyone who presents a valid drivers' license and a minimum of $40 in gas receipts incurred within 48 hours of their arrival at one of the Chamber's two Welcome Centers, located at the intersections of U.S. Highway 65 and Missouri Highway 248, and at Hwy. 65 and Missouri Highway 160 in Branson. Gas Buster card holders are automatically entered to win the grand prize 4-day/3-night vacation for four to Branson, which will be awarded on October 31, 2007.

"By offering the Gas Buster discount card to our visitors, we are letting them know that we value their business. And Branson businesses are willing to work together to defray the cost of gas so our visitors can afford to do all the things they would like to do while they are here,” according to Ross Summers, president and CEO of the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce/CVB. "Most of the visitors that vacation in Branson drive into town. The Gas Buster program will help bring more people, especially more of our regional neighbors coming in for a weekend getaway. Branson's location, within a day's drive of roughly one-third of our country's population, makes us very accessible to families looking for theme parks, outdoor and lakes recreation, along with shopping and world-class entertainment.”

Gas Buster discount cards and the list of participating sponsors will only be issued from the two Chamber/CVB Welcome Centers. Business hours are 8am to 5pm, Mondays through Saturdays, and 10am to 4pm on Sundays. The Gas Buster promotion runs from May 1 through Oct. 31, 2007. For more information, log on to www.explorebranson.com or call 800-214-3661.
